Newspapers hold a unique position in their markets to deliver data-driven events that develop new and deeper connections in their communities, with packaged solutions that bring in big dollars!

At the Key Executives-Mega Conference – Feb. 26-28 in San Diego – hear from a panel of newspaper industry leaders about unique and innovative ideas that you can take home and make work for your business. Register before costs increase on Monday!

Presenters will be:

  • Stephen Wade, president of The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle
  • Scott Pompe, vice president of Statesman Media, Austin, Texas
  • Chris Edwards, president, Gazette Communications, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Wade says many newspapers are discovering new revenue streams through events and event ticketing. Using demographics and lifestyle data can both increase attendance and non-traditional revenue. He's encouraging publishers to come learn an easy step toward becoming a marketing extraordinaire.

He said, "Augusta turned a nice partnership with a community not-for-profit organization into a great one by using data tools to attract a new audience to one of the largest community events in the area. Newspaper publishers own a wealth of information that can easily be enhanced and turned into an incredible marketing powerhouse.  All papers should be doing this!"

Pompe will offer a look at the Austin American-Statesman's third revenue stream, which includes: agency services, signature and experiential events. He'll said, "We'll look at the launch and growth with scalability in mind."

"Like many traditional media companies have identified, digital alone will not make up for the losses in print or broadcast spots," Pompe said. "Our third revenue stream of non-digital agency services and events will give you some ideas to take home that Statesman Media has been able to execute profitably."
